The experiments are carried out in continuation and development of the earlier series of experiments on the shock compression of liquid nitrogen to pressures of 100–330 GPa, which were performed at VNIIEF (Sarov) in 2008–2010. The purpose of our experiments is to verify and confirm the earlier revealed limiting compression of nitrogen to a limit close to an ideal gas (ρ/ρ0 ≈ 4.2) and the remarkable subsequent quasi-isochoric segment of the Hugoniot adiabat in the pressure range 100–330 GPa. The experimental data obtained are compared with the results of theoretical calculations performed with various models of the equation of state of a nonideal nitrogen plasma</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Обсуждаются результаты серии опытов по ударному сжатию плотного азотного флюида, предварительно статически сжатого до начальной плотности ρ = 0.8, 0.65, 0.5 г/см3, до давлений 140-230 ГПа на генераторах ударных волн полусферической геометрии. Эксперименты проведены в продолжение и развитие предыдущей серии опытов, также выполненных во ВНИИЭФ (Саров) в 2008-2010 гг., по ударному сжатию жидкого азота до давлений 100-330 ГПа. Целью настоящих экспериментов была проверка и подтверждение выявленной ранее величины предельного сжатия азота до предела, близкого к идеально-газовому,ρ0/ρ ≈ 4.2, и примечательного последующего квазиизохорического хода ударной адиабаты в указанном интервале давлений 100-330 ГПа.
